Katherine Baicker, PhD

Dr. Baicker commenced as Dean and the Emmett Dedmon Professor at the University of Chicago Harris School of Public Policy in 2017. Previously, Dr. Baicker served as a member of the President's Council of Economic Advisers from 2005 to 2007 under the Bush Administration. She has also served as Commissioner on the Medicare Payment Advisory Commission, Chair of the Massachusetts Group Insurance Commission and Professor of Health Economics at Harvard University. Dr. Baicker currently serves on the Congressional Budget Office’s Panel of Health Advisers. She earned her B.A. in economics from Yale and her Ph.D. in economics from Harvard.
