Michael E. Chernew, PhD
Leonard D. Schaeffer Professor of Health Care Policy, Harvard Medical School
Dr. Chernew is a professor at Harvard Medical School in the Department of Health Care Policy and the director of the Healthcare Markets and Regulation Lab. He previously taught in the Department of Health Management at the University of Michigan. He was awarded the John D. Thompson Prize for Young Investigators and the Alice S. Hersh Investigator Award for his contributions to health services research. Dr. Chernew is a member of the Congressional Budget Office Panel of Health Advisors and served as co-editor at American Journal of Managed Care. Dr. Chernew earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Pennsylvania and his Ph.D. in economics from Stanford University.
