Julie Schoenman, PhD
Director of Research and Quality
Julie Schoenman joined NIHCM in September 2007 with an extensive background in health policy research. She leads NIHCM Foundation’s research agenda and development of further topics of study.
Previously, she was Senior Research Scientist with the National Opinion Research Center (NORC) at the University of Chicago, where she also served as the Deputy Director of the NORC Walsh Center for Rural Health Analysis. Prior to her tenure at NORC, she spent 17 years as a Senior Research Director with the Project HOPE Center for Health Affairs. She has led many research studies on topics as diverse as Medicare policy and provider payment, health information technology, and access to care, and has published results from these studies in numerous journals.
Dr. Schoenman is a graduate of Bellarmine University and received her MA and PhD from Vanderbilt University in Economics.
