Putting Medicaid to Work
This could be a big year for Medicaid. Virginia is expanding its program to include single adults, a judge has ordered Maine’s governor to do so as well, and ballot initiatives in three states could also lead to expansions. An additional seven states have sought federal waivers to add work requirements for Medicaid eligibility, following the blueprint laid out by Kentucky, Indiana, New Hampshire and Arkansas. USC Annenberg’s Center for Health Journalism recently hosted a webinar, with grant support from NIHCM Foundation, to explore policy changes in Medicaid and outline questions reporters should be asking.
