Summary of the Project:
Taking an in-depth approach, the documentary APART follows three women taking part in a reentry program in Ohio as they prepare to leave prison and rebuild their lives after serving time on drug related charges. A NIHCM Foundation Journalism Grant is supporting the public engagement campaign for this documentary, highlighting the unique perspective of mothers and their children when opioid prescriptions and addiction lead to incarceration and disruption of American families.
