Summary of the Project:

This grant will support the Outreach and Engagement Campaign for CURED, an award-winning PBS documentary that tells the story of the American Psychiatric Association’s decision to remove homosexuality from its manual of mental illnesses in 1973. Support from NIHCM will amplify the reach of CURED by making possible a series of targeted screenings and interactive discussions focusing on this crucial turning point and the role it played in the fight for health equity, equality, and dignity for LGBTQ Americans.

Story Center Films, LLC is a documentary production company based in Washington, DC. The company's name explains its focus: telling good stories. The company, which teamed up with Singer & Deschamps Productions and ITVS to co-produce CURED, is developing documentaries about history, politics, and our modern world.
