A keystone piece of a statewide media partnership, this reporting project will investigate persistently high suicide rates in Oregon and the West, what can be done, and the implications for the increasing national suicide rate.

The Oregonian/Oregon Live is the largest newsroom in Oregon with a track record of journalistic excellence, including eight Pulitzer Prizes and numerous other national awards. Carol Cruzan Morton, the primary reporter and project co-investigator, is an independent journalist.
