Summary of the Project:
Building off of previous award-winning work, this national project will investigate mergers surrounding the pharmacy benefit manager (PBM) industry and the impact on consumers. This multimedia investigation will include data visualizations, video, podcasts and print reporting.
About the Grantee:
Established in 1871, The Columbus Dispatch is a daily regional newspaper. The reporters working on this project won a NIHCM Award in 2019 for their year-long investigation on the drug-supply chain, which prompted the state of Ohio to revamp their Medicaid contracts with PBMs.
