Partners Poynter and KFF are launching a pilot, virtual training program to help local and regional journalists become more skilled at using research to report on health.

About the Grantee:

The Poynter Institute for Media Studies is a global leader in journalism education and a strategy center that stands for uncompromising excellence in journalism, media and 21st-century public discourse. Founded in 1975, Poynter is the home of the Craig Newmark Center for Ethics and Leadership, the Pulitzer Prize-winning PolitiFact, the International Fact-Checking Network and MediaWise, a digital information literacy project.


KFF (Kaiser Family Foundation) is a nonprofit organization focusing on national health issues, as well as the U.S. role in global health policy. KFF serves as a nonpartisan source of facts, analysis and journalism for policymakers, the media, the health policy community and the public.
