Summary of the Project:
Using private health insurance claims and longitudinal data on private equity (PE) investment in physician medical practices, this study will describe recent trends in PE acquisitions and assess their effect on total and component charges and on categories of health care utilization across physician groups. Findings will provide needed empirical evidence about the implications of the marked increase in PE investments in the health care sector.
