Summary of the Project:
Journalists face a rapidly increasing demand to understand and translate complex health issues for the public. This grant supports resources to improve media coverage of medical and health policy research on topics such as vaccine hesitancy, mental health parity, prescription drug costs, substance use and the social determinants of health.

For over a decade, The Journalist’s Resource (JR) has been a trusted source for journalists seeking to find and understand peer-reviewed research on a variety of topics. JR’s free weekly email newsletter now has more than 43,000 subscribers and some 58,425 people follow JR on X (formerly Twitter). As newsrooms become increasingly short-staffed, JR helps to bridge the gap between academia and journalism to encourage high-quality news reporting. JR has informed numerous articles from large and small media organizations. Everything on the JR site is published under a Creative Commons license, meaning newsrooms are free to share JR content on their own websites.
