Given the rise in double mastectomies that may not be medically necessary, this series will examine women’s attitudes, clinician behaviors, and research on breast cancer treatment.
About the Grantee:
Veteran health care reporter Michelle Andrews is a contributing writer for Kaiser Health News. She has freelanced extensively for The New York Times and has been frequently published by The Washington Post, National Public Radio and Women’s Health magazine, among others. She has published a number of stories about genetic testing, breast cancer screening and treatment, and overtreatment in health care.
