Stopping the Other Pandemic: Systemic Racism and Health

The stark racial disparities in COVID-19 mortality and prevalence rates have placed a spotlight on the long-standing connection between systemic racism and health. The country is in the midst of a racism and public health crisis reflected in disparities in access to COVID-19 testing and treatment, the ability of frontline workers to protect themselves and their families, food and housing insecurity, and many other factors. This three-part series focuses on the impact of systemic racism on the health and well-being of Black and Latino people, as well as others from a diverse range of ethnic and racial backgrounds. The goal of the series is to increase understanding of these important issues, and offer actionable solutions for positive change.
