Summary of the Project:
This radio series on the loneliness epidemic will feature interviews with former Surgeon General Vivek Murthy and other experts to describe the problem; investigate the causes of loneliness, including the role of technology; explain the medical and mental consequences; share personal experiences of the chronically lonely; and discuss solutions.
About the Grantee:
Veteran medical reporter Dawn Fallik will publish this series online and on the air through National Public Radio and WHYY in Philadelphia. An associate professor teaching journalism at the University of Delaware, Dawn continues to write for The Wall Street Journal and The Washington Post, including several stories on loneliness.
