Summary of the Project:

This six-part broadcast news series will explore the health care impact, opportunities, and challenges of the unprecedented surge in aging and longevity in the U.S., especially in racially and economically underserved communities.

About the Grantee:

Peggy Pico is a multiple Emmy Award-winning journalist. She served as an anchor, reporter, and host of KPBS Evening Edition for more than five years. Prior to her public broadcasting reporting, Pico worked as a medical and science reporter at NBC and CBS News in Dallas, Los Angeles, San Francisco, and San Diego. She was awarded a USC Health Fellowship and a Loyola Law School Journalist Fellowship and is a member of the National Association of Hispanic Journalists and the Association of Health Care Journalists.
