NIHCM Doubles Prize Money for 25th Annual Research and Journalism Awards
Washington, D.C. – December 10, 2018 NIHCM is pleased to announce it is doubling its monetary prizes for the 25th Annual Research and Journalism Awards in spring 2019.
“Journalism and research have been an important part of NIHCM throughout our 25-year history. Raising the prize amount this year illustrates our commitment to and appreciation for exceptional work in health care,” said Nancy Chockley, founding President and CEO of NIHCM.
Established in 1993, the NIHCM Awards recognize talented journalists and researchers who serve as catalysts for positive change in health care by informing policy and public discourse. Winners are selected by independent panels of highly esteemed journalists and researchers.
NIHCM will offer awards in the following categories for work published in 2018:
- Television and Radio Journalism ($20,000 prize)
- General Circulation Print Journalism ($20,000 prize)
- Digital Media ($20,000 prize)
- Trade Journalism ($15,000 prize)
- Peer-Reviewed Research Publication ($20,000 prize)
One additional entry may be selected for an Honorable Mention with a $5,000 prize.
