Mikayla Thompson, MPH

Senior Associate, Research and Policy

Mikayla Thompson is a Senior Associate, Research and Policy, at NIHCM, where she drives the Policy Communications programming, including infographics, webinars, and the Population Health Spotlight, NIHCM’s monthly newsletter. She also supports NIHCM’s journalism and policy research awards and grants programs. Her areas of interest include chronic disease, cancer, rural health, health care costs and access, and health care ownership.

Before joining NIHCM, Ms. Thompson worked with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s Public Health Law Program and the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center’s Cancer Prevention and Research Training Program. Her research experience includes published work on cancer care outcomes at MD Anderson, as well as studies focused on environmental health, cancer prevention, maternal health, vaccine hesitancy, and global health.

Ms. Thompson graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Public Health and a Master of Public Health with a concentration in Health Services Administration from the University at Buffalo in Buffalo, New York.
